About the Library

The Marienville Area Library is a member of the Seneca Library District , with its offices located at the Warren Public Library and District Center.

The Marienville Area Library was begun by the Marienville Woman's Club, County Commissioners, and Warren Area Library in 1969. It expanded from a small store-front building by the Kelly Hotel to its present location on Pine Street, in the early 1980's.

An active Friends' group hosted a "Community Library Tea" in the early years, which has now become a 100 item Chinese Auction/Open House fundraiser attended by more that 150 people each election day.

The current library website was published on March 5, 2012.  It was created by former Marienville resident, Brad Long, who is currently the Medical Librarian at Central Michigan University.  Click here to see detailed current statistics.
